A gold Half Guinea coin of King George III, dated 1773. The era of the Half Guinea came to an end during the reign of George III. First issued in 1669 and finally ending in 1813. The shield type was issued between 1762-1786, and was eventually replaced by the Half Sovereign in 1817. Ironically, it was still used as a measurement of currency until decimalisation. We recommend you study the pictures of the coin before making a purchase.
