This Austrian 20 Coronas gold coin features the iconic Imperial Eagle overlaid with the Austrian Coat of Arms on the reverse.
Although the coin bears the date 1915, it was re-struck at a later time and is therefore classified as a bullion coin rather than a numismatic collectible. Nonetheless, it remains a fascinating piece of history.
The obverse displays a portrait of Emperor Franz Joseph I, uncle of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Franz Joseph reigned as Emperor of Austria from 1848 until his death in 1916.
Struck in 21.6 carat (.900 fine) gold, each coin contains 0.196 troy ounces of pure gold, making it a timeless investment as well as a nod to European imperial heritage.
