What started in 1976 as a single market stall with just £400 worth of gold stock, has grown into a second-generation family business with stores across Hampshire, a dedicated jewellery workshop and thousands of loyal customers.
Over the past five decades, David Mellor Jewellers has remained proudly independent, built on family values, trusted expertise and a passion for beautiful jewellery, luxury watches and pre-loved treasures.
Today, the next generation continues the story, supported by our talented team of goldsmiths, jewellery specialists and watch experts. From jewellery repairs and bespoke commissions to watch servicing, valuations and more, we’re committed to providing the same personal service that has been at the heart of DMJ since day one.

2026 marks our 50th year and we thank you all for our continued support and loyalty
1976
David Mellor started a market stall at 24 years old with £400 worth of gold stock and a homemade wooden stall.
1980
David was a regular market trader at Andover, Guildford, Farnborough, Christchurch, Blackbushe & Ringwood markets
1987
David & Christine got married! Christine went on to join the business in 1989
1987
The first David Mellor Jewellers brick & mortar store opened on Eastleigh High Street
1989
David & Christine opened their second store in Totton Precinct

The future generation of DMJ are born - Daniel, James & Amy
2002
Starting them young! Dan & Jim helping their Dad on the market at the weekends

David retired from the markets after 32years and opened the third DMJ store, situated in Waterloo Court, Andover
2012
Relocated and expanded the Eastleigh High Street store into the Swan Centre
2012
A truly family affair! All three ‘kids’ working in the business full-time

Relocated and expanded the Andover store into the Chantry Centre
2022
Another relocation and expansion for the Eastleigh Swan Centre store, into their flagship showroom, also now housing their in-house workshop
2024
David & Christine begin their retirement, leaving DMJ in the hands of ‘the kids’
2025
David sadly passed away in April 2025 at the age of 73

We continue David’s legacy and even hold a Charity Golf Day in his memory
